Luigi Monteanni
Luigi Monteanni is a PhD candidate in ethnomusicology at SOAS, University of London and winner of an AHRC CHASE scholarship. He is studying the relationships between contemporary transnational pop music genres and regional music and in particular the indigenisation of extreme metal in Bandung, Indonesia. He is also the co-founder of Artetetra Records: a music label and collective pursuing practice-based inquiries regarding notions of digital folklore and exoticism in late globalization. He has lectured at universities such as SOAS, ISBI Bandung and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Milan) and worked for a couple of years as an applied anthropologist and qualitative researcher for Istituto Piepoli and IPSOS.
