I am delighted to announce the winner of this year's BFE prize for the best student paper presented at the annual conference.
The prize has been awarded to Thomas Western for his submission "The Rigs of Time: Online Dissemination and the Oldness of Field Recordings". His paper was presented this year at the BFE annual conference in Belfast.
The winner of the 2009 prize for the best student paper presented at the 2009 annual conference at Liverpool John Moores University goes to Sue Miller for her paper, "'The Thieving Magpie': Musical Borrowing, Quotes and Signifiers in Cuban Charanga Improvisation".
