The BFE Conference Liaison Officers oversee the organisation’s flagship conferences throughout the year, including the Annual Conference, the Autumn Conference (sometimes called the One-Day Conference) and the BFE-RMA Research Students’ Conference. They provide support and advice for local arrangements committees (LACs) at host institutions, and liaise between LACs and the BFE Executive Committee. Conference Liaisons liaise with other scholarly societies such as the Royal Musical Association, the Society for Ethnomusicology and the Société française d’ethnomusicologie to coordinate joint events. They also review the accessibility of conferences to ensure that BFE events provide a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for sharing research and meeting other researchers.
